When you donate your vehicle to Goodwill of Greater Washington, you will be joining thousands of other community members who have been contributing to Goodwill’s success this year. Here are some of the ways Goodwill has been raising money to help the community this season:
Share a Smile Campaign
During the month of October, Goodwill was raising money in thrift stores to honor National Disability Employee Awareness Month. The purpose of this month is to highlight the value and hard work of employees with disabilities. The month was a huge success and Goodwill was able to raise over $15,000 which will all go towards putting people in the community to work.
Goodwill and Marriott Donation Drive
Also during the month of October, Goodwill held a donation drive in partnership with Marriott Hotels in Washington DC. This week-long donation drive was a huge success and the donations collected throughout the week will be used to help support Goodwill’s mission transforming lives through the dignity of work.
There will be more donation drives in the coming months, so keep checking Goodwill’s website for more information.
When you donate your vehicle to Goodwill of Greater Washington, the vehicle will be taken to an auto auction and sold. Once the vehicle has been sold, Goodwill will receive the proceeds from the sale to use towards its job training and employment programs. So, when you’re considering making a car donation this holiday season, consider making a donation to Goodwill. Now is a great time to donate because you will still be able to take a tax deduction for the 2012 year.
