Goodwill’s mission is to help improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and other barriers to employment by providing them with job training and employment placement assistance. There are several aspects to the programming Goodwill provides, including forming partnerships with potential employers.
The Goodwill Young Professional Council
One of the ways Goodwill forms partnerships with potential employers in the community is through the Goodwill Young Professional Council. This council is made up of young professionals in the Washington D.C. area who are committed to helping the most vulnerable citizens in the area find meaningful employment. The council provides these young professionals an opportunity to network with other professionals who share their goals and also make connections with Goodwill.
Membership Benefits Include:
- Helping address the need for employment and the ability to be self sustainable for people with disabilities.
- Personal and professional networking opportunities to meet other young professionals who enjoy philanthropy and community service.
- Social events such as Happy Hours and networking fundraisers.
- Priority access and discounted ticket prices for some of Goodwill’s events, such as the annual Fashion of Goodwill Runway Show & Gala
